Glass range
Glazing choices are an important option to consider. Glass can enhance the way your home looks and feels, but it also adds to the warmth and thermal efficiency of your home.
It’s a good idea to work through your options to find the right glass for your home. With options to reduce UV, minimise heat loss, and increase year-round comfort, your decisions can have a significant impact on the performance of your glazing.
Some factors to consider and discuss with us are the orientation and shading of your home, the climate and noise around where you live. There are a variety of performance glass options to suit most requirements. Here is a quick overview of the most popular options to consider.
The AGP System®
Our insulated, high-performance system, The AGP System®, uses the best components and technology available in New Zealand, featuring:
- Solux-E® or Solux Ultra™
- Argon gas
- ATS - Architectural Thermal Spacer®.
Solux-E®
A virtually invisible low emissivity (Low-E) coating added to The AGP System® improving the level of insulation and solar control in your home.
Solux-E® reduces the amount of heat that passes through the glass while still letting natural light through, improving the thermal efficiency of a home. It offers year-round comfort and a warmer, drier and healthier home.
Upgrade to Solux Ultra™
AGP's newest high performance Low-E glass. The perfect blend of clarity, overheating control and fading protection.
Due to its superior solar control, Solux Ultra™ is the best choice for homeowners wanting to control overheating and is highly recommended for buildings with higher window-to-wall ratio.

Anodising
Anodised finishing is a highly popular choice for architectural projects, and is a durable and colour fast technology that offers an alternative to powdercoating.
As for colours and film thicknesses, there are plenty of options: Silver, in 12 and 25 microns. Bronze in light, medium or dark, 12 and 25 microns. Black, 25 microns only. Champagne, in 25 microns only.
For properties in coastal, industrial or other corrosive environments, 25 microns is recommended, and may even be required to qualify for a warranty. (Note: the anodised coating has a 10-year warranty for 12 micron anodising, and 20 years for 25 microns.)
Note: when you are choosing your aluminium joinery colour, always assess the colour in natural light using an aluminium colour swatch. We are able to provide you with the colour swatch samples upon request.
Anodising is unavailable in Residential ThermalHEART®.
Powdercoating
Powdercoating is the most popular surface finish and offers a huge range of colour options that cater for buildings in all locations.
Our range of 35 popular colours is a good place to start. They are available in Duralloy PLUS, the most economical powdercoat finish. Some colours are available in Protexture, a high performance powdercoat finish. Our powdercoat colours are also available to colour-match your hardware.
Note: when you are choosing your aluminium joinery colour, always assess the colour in natural light using an aluminium colour swatch. Protexture is not offered with ThermalHEART suites.

Colour Selection Tips
- For a joinery colour that complements the house cladding it is common to choose a tone a few shades up or down from the cladding colour
- Choosing the same colour as the house can give a very clean look, especially in white or cream tones
- Remember, however, that the colour of joinery you choose now may limit options in the future if you want a change of house colour
- Contrasting joinery colours are popular and darker natural tones, silver and black are often chosen
- Dark or black joinery against a light coloured house, especially in a plaster finish, can look very sharp and attractive
- Matching the joinery colour to the roof or fascia for a unified look is also popular
- It is important to remember that the joinery colour impacts on the inside view and so can influence interior colour schemes. A good option can be to choose a neutral joinery colour that preserves flexibility for interior selections e.g white, cream, grey, taupe, black or silver
- Consider the environmental and site conditions of your property and ensure that the powdercoat product you choose is fit for purpose
- When you make your final colour selection, use an aluminium colour swatch and assess it in natural light.
